MIRANDA LAMBERT’S “HELL ON HEELS” PERFORMANCE CLOSES OUT CMA MUSIC FEST

NASHVILLE, TN – Miranda Lambert helped to close out the CMA Music Festival last night in front of a packed stadium at LP Field. Her blistering, 30-minute set included her Number One singles, “White Liar,” “The House That Built Me,” and “Heart Like Mine,” all from her CMA and ACM Album of the Year, Revolution.

During her show, Lambert’s trio, Pistol Annies, performed their self-penned song, “Hell On Hells,” which is available for purchase now at www.pistolannies.com. The song will be available at all digital outlets on June 28. “I am so excited about Pistol Annies,” said Lambert. “I feel the songs we are writing are digging deeper into our country roots and getting back to music that inspired us all. Angaleena, Ashley and I are hoping more artists collaborate. This band is made up of three real country girls with three very real stories to tell.”

Comprised of Lambert and singer-songwriters Ashley Monroe and Angaleena Presley, the genesis of the group was during a songwriting session with Lambert and Monroe. While writing and sharing stories, Monroe decided that Lambert and Presley needed to meet, and a midnight phone call with the three of them launched what became Pistol Annies.

“Hell On Heels” was the theme of Lambert’s show last night. In addition to the performance of the song, Lambert put an exclamation point on the end of “Only Prettier” when she heel-spiked and burst a beach ball that landed on stage. To a roaring crowd, Lambert asked, “Is it just me or do those beach balls irritate the hell out of y’all?”
