The Band Perry’s #1 HIT “IF I DIE YOUNG” REACHES DOUBLE PLATINUM!

With their latest hit, "You Lie," closing in on the Top 5 on the Country Charts, Republic Nashville's The Band Perry learned that their #1 smash hit, “If I Die Young,” had achieved Double Platinum certification from the RIAA for sales exceeding 2 million just as Memorial Day weekend began.

The long weekend is known as the official kick-off to summer and the news came as The Band Perry launched into several headlining dates on Tim McGraw's Emotional Traffic Tour. As summer continues, so too will the high-energy shows as the band celebrates additional accolades.

“It’s been an amazing year! ‘If I Die Young,’ has an inspirational message that so many have embraced and we are humbled that it has impacted so many people. This is truly an honor,” said The Band Perry.

“I would like to say congratulations to The Band Perry and the entire team for yet another incredible sales accolade,” said Nashville Republic President, Jimmy Harnen.

On June 2, they will perform as part of the VH1 Save The Music SONGWRITERS MUSIC SERIES, Presented by STARBURST®. The Series kicked off in New York with Glee star, Matthew Morrison, continues with The Band Perry in Nashville and will travel to Los Angeles for a yet-to-be-announced performance. Tickets for the exclusive event in Nashville are available at http://vh1savethemusic.com/node/5507.

Currently, the music video for “If I Die Young,” is poised for success during the 2011 CMT Music Awards where The Band Perry has three nominations, including Video of the Year, Group of the Year and USAWEEKEND Breakthrough Video of the Year. Voting takes place online at CMT.com through June 7. The awards show will air LIVE from Nashville on Wednesday, June 8 on CMT and CMT.com.

As the band dedicates much of the summer months to touring (dates below), the accolades continue. The Band Perry recently earned their first ACM Awards for New Duo or Group of the Year and the coveted, fan-voted New Artist of the Year. Their current single, "You Lie," is their fastest-rising to date and is now a Top 10 hit. This is the third single off their self-titled debut album, which was released in October 2010, and certified Gold just four months later. The Band Perry is currently on Tim McGraw’s Emotional Traffic Tour and will join Keith Urban on the road in September.
