MISSISSIPPI’S OWN COUNTRY MUSIC STAR RANDY HOUSER NOMINATED FOR FAN-VOTED ACADEMY OF COUNTRY MUSIC (ACM) AWARD

NASHVILLE, Tenn.– (Wednesday, January 26, 2010)– Mississippi-bred country crooner Randy Houser is nominated for the fan-voted "Top New Solo Vocalist" Award at the 46th Annual Country Music (ACM) Awards, and local supporters, friends and family are encouraged to cast their vote beginning TOMORROW, Thursday, Jan. 27th at 11 a.m. CST at VoteACM.com or GACtv.com. Polls will close on Thursday, Feb. 24 at 11 a.m. CST.

Born and raised in the small town of Lake, MS, Houser certainly hasn't forgotten where he came from over years he's pursued his dream in Nashville. After celebrating top-charting hits "Boots On," "Whistlin' Dixie" and "Anything Goes," receiving copious praise on red carpets from critics and peers alike, and touring nationwide with some of country's biggest acts, he still says his favorite place to be is "home."

"I've played music as long as I can remember. So to me, award shows like the ACMs are like being in the Super Bowl for music fans. The awards shows were the only chance I had to see live music when I was growing up," said Houser. "I'd look forward to that all year, so to be nominated in this category is a huge honor for me and I hope to make my home state proud!"
