Steel Magnolia Debuts at #3 on Billboard Country Albums Chart

January 20, 2011 - Country sensation Steel Magnolia’s self-titled album debuted at #3 on the Billboard Country Albums Chart this week – behind only crossover star and label mate Taylor Swift and the superstar –laden Country Strong movie soundtrack. 
 
Additionally, the new artists debuted at #7 on the Billboard Top 200, making an impressive statement across genres with their long-anticipated debut album.  


Steel Magnolia’s brand new single, “Last Night Again,” is up 77% in digital single sales this week alone. A special behind-the-scenes look at the making of the Grease-inspired music video is currently featured on Us Weekly’s website.
 
The 2011 Academy of Country Award nominees for “Top New Vocal Duo or Group” will make a whirlwind trip to LA next week where they’ll perform songs from their new album, including the hit single, “Last Night Again,” on KTLA Morning News on Monday, January 24.
 
The celebrated duo will also visit the set of PBS’ Tavis Smiley to discuss their unique road to success leading up to the release of their debut Big Machine Records album.  Steel Magnolia’s Tavis Smiley couch chat will air on PBS stations nation-wide on Monday, January 31.

Steel Magnolia hits the road the very next night with current CMA “Male Vocalist of the Year” Blake Shelton for a performance at LaCrosse Center Arena in LaCrosse, WI – kicking off a run of opening dates for Shelton with stops including Bemidji, MN; Winnie, TX; Waco, TX; Fayetteville, NC; and Highland Heights, KY.
