Stephanie Quayle Nominated For Prestigious Blue Ocean Film Festival Award

“Big Blue Town” Final Nominee for Best Use of Music Award

NASHVILLE, Tenn. November 10, 2014 – Rising singer/songwriter and Rebel Engine recording artist Stephanie Quayle is nominated for a prestigious Blue Ocean Film Festival Award for Best Use of Music for the song “Big Blue Town” which she wrote and donated to the Sea Save Foundation. The song was so powerful, Sea Save Foundation created a music video that augmented Stephanie’s vision in the song. The video for “Big Blue Town” is also nominated for Best Short Film.

The video, featuring vibrant undersea footage from around the world, was directed by Georgienne Bradley, a Women Divers Hall of Fame inductee and “SCUBA Diving” Sea Hero; edited by Emmy and Eddie Award winner, Kelly Coskran (“Deadliest Catch,” “Shark Tank,” “The Amazing Race”); and supported by two-time Emmy winner Thom Beers (“Deadliest Catch,” “Ax Men,” “Monster Garage”). The video sends the message that sharks are essential to health, balanced ocean ecosystems.

Two years ago, Stephanie and Sea Save Foundation director and “Big Blue Town” video director Georgienne Bradley met on a crowded plane. They spent the duration of the flight discussing ocean conservation and unsustainable shark fishing. Stephanie was so moved by what she had learned that she wanted to do all she could to help raise awareness. She wrote the beautiful, metaphorical “Big Blue Town” and donated it to Sea Save Foundation to help strengthen their educational efforts and to help raise funds for Sea Save’s ocean conservation efforts.

The Blue Ocean Film Festival takes place November 3 – 9, 2014 in St. Petersburg, FL.

Sea Save Foundation, headquartered in Malibu, California, strives to protect oceans by raising awareness of urgent problems facing marine ecosystems, including shark finning and illegal fishing. For more information, visit www.seasave.org.

Born and raised on a farm in Bozeman, Montana, Stephanie Quayle made the move from the Big Sky in 2011 and now calls Music City her home. However, she frequently makes trips back to her home state to help raise money for causes and needs in her community. In June, Stephanie participated in her first Mounted Shoot competition “Shoot Against Cancer” for the Bozeman 3 Foundation which helped provide financial assistance to local kids for treatment of cancer who must travel out of the area for treatments. Stephanie took the event seriously. Having never competed in Mounted Shooting before, she spent 3-4 months training with professional mounted shooters in Nashville.

“Sugar High,” Stephanie’s single from her upcoming EP was produced by Grammy-winning Ilya Toshinskey and written by three of Nashville’s most award-winning revered songwriters Ashley Gorley (Carrie Underwood’s “Good Girl,” Luke Bryan’s “Crash My Party”) Kelley Lovelace (Brad Paisley’s “He Didn’t Have To Be,” “Ticks”) and Steve McEwan (Kenny Chesney’s “Summertime,” Keith Urban’s “Only You Can Love Me This Way”).
